Art Meets Oceans: Washed Ashore Project

‘Taking beach trash and turning it into educational ocean art’

The Washed Ashore Project is a not-for-profit community-based organisation which coordinates beach cleans and then creates incredible, striking sculptures out of what is found on the shoreline.

Their aim is to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution by using ‘art to save the sea’. These sculptures are so detailed that they are both art and  also an educational resource to educate the public about marine life and the issues it faces.
